Locations


Until the weather allows practices to return to the water, Saturday morning practices will use the indoor rowing tanks in Danforth Gymnsasium on the Brooks School campus in North Andover. All other practices will be held at the Branch Street location in Methuen and will shift to Lowell Street once the weather permits.


Adult Introductory Rowing

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

The Introductory (or Learn to Row) program is designed for individuals with little or no exposure to the sport and those that have been away from it for an extended period. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the rowing stroke and improve their general aerobic fitness on the indoor rowing machines and indoor rowing tanks before moving onto the water when the weather permits. Training will include basic calisthenics to improve strength and mobility.

Dates: March 5 through May 30
Days: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
Times: 6:00-7:30 PM, 7:00-8:00 AM on Saturdays
Please note that Saturday practice times will shift to 8:00-10:00 AM when we move onto the water.

Indoor Lunch Break Rowing

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

Designed for individuals with limited time, the Lunch Break Rowing program will help participants improve their general aerobic fitness while learning the basic rowing stroke on the indoor rowing machines. Workouts are designed for all fitness levels and include basic calisthenics to improve strength and flexibility. Participants can register for unlimited classes each season, each month, or can pay per class.

Adult Intermediate Rowing

MINIMUM 3 MONTHS EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE FROM A COACH REQUIRED

The intermediate program is a team based training environment for athletes that have moved beyond the novice level and wish to further develop their skills. Training will remain indoors for the early part of the season before moving onto the water as weather permits. Athletes in the intermediate program can opt to puruse the sport with either a recreational or competitive focus.

Adult Advanced Intermediate Rowing

MINIMUM 6 MONTHS EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE FROM A COACH REQUIRED

The advanced intermediate program is a team based, competitive training environment for experienced oarsmen and oarswomen. Training will remain indoors for the early part of the season before moving onto the water as weather permits. Athletes will be developed with competitive performance in mind with a focus on the summer and fall racing seasons.
